How rate shopping works
When you enter a shipment's origin, destination, and package details, OrbisCommerce queries all connected carriers simultaneously and returns live rates ranked by price and transit time.

Filtering rates
Use the filters on the rate results page to narrow by:
- Transit time — e.g. only show services under 5 days
- Carrier — compare within a single carrier's service levels
- Price — set a maximum budget per label
Why rates differ from the carrier's website
OrbisCommerce negotiates volume discounts with carriers, so rates shown are typically 15–40% lower than retail prices on carrier websites.
Rate guarantees
Rates are locked at the time of label generation. If a carrier adjusts fees (fuel surcharges, dimensional weight recalculation) after the label is printed, OrbisCommerce absorbs the difference on pre-paid labels.
